Maryport Maritime Museum (Allerdale Borough Council)

The museum houses a wealth of objects, pictures, models and paintings that illustrate Maryport's proud maritime and painting tradition.  Exhibits range from a whale's tooth to telescopes and tools.

There are displays about Fletcher Christian of the mutiny on the Bounty and Thomas Ismay, owner of the Titanic.

Easter to 31 October, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (Mon - Thurs), 10:00 am - 1:00 pm & 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm (Fri - Sat), 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm (Sun).
1 November to Easter, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm & 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm (Mon - Sat).

Admission free.

The A66 from the M6 (J40) and Keswick goes straight to the coast, turn off to Maryport at Cockermouth and the museum is right on the harbour front.
