The Printing House

Now in the historic west Cumbrian town of Cockermouth you can visit the Working Museum of Printing.  Set in a building dating back to the 16th century, you can see a varied and interesting range of printing presses and equipment brought together from all over Britain.  Walking round the Museum takes the visitor on a fascinating journey through time.  Starting with a display describing the history of printing from its origins in the 15th century and onwards to the use of automated machinery.
