Heron Corn Mill and Museum of Papermaking

A restored working corn mill, built about 1740. All machinery powered from a 14ft high breast shot wheel. Milling demonstrations. “History of Baking Gallery”. Museum of Papermaking shows papermaking ancient and modern, through displays, diagrams, artefacts and demonstrations of handmaking paper on occasions. The Museum now stocks handmade paper suitable for watercolour artists.

Tuesday – Sunday 11 am – 5 pm.
1 April – 30 September or by arrangement with prebooked parties during October.
Open bank holidays.
Admission charge applies.

Take J35 from M6.
A601M to Pinelake roundabout.
North on A6 for 6 miles.
1 mile south of Milnthorpe, signposted at Beetham village entry.
