Staff in the Chief Executive's office of the County Council are currently working on the policy position on Culture and the Arts to inform the 2012/13 commissioning framework.  The Strategic Policy Advisor manages this framework which commissions cultural organisations in Cumbria to deliver activity to support the achievement of the Council's priorities as expressed in the Council Plan.  This recognises the role of culture and the arts in improving the quality of life for the people in our communities. 

We regret that this framework is not in place to support individuals, projects that have already taken place, groups that are not formally constituted, or 100% of a project's total cost (i.e. organisations supported through this framework would normally have a number of other income strands).  We also expect organisations to report on their performance and demonstrate how this has met the Council's priorities.
