On the 1st August 2007 Cumbria Institute of the Arts merged with other institutes to form The University of Cumbria. What better pedigree can this new university have than the institutions that merged to form it? The reputation that each of the colleges enjoys translates directly into the university. This is one of those situations where whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts; think of the merging collages as the foundation on which the University of Cumbria has been built – just watch it grow.
