Whitewood and Fleming Theatre and Music

Whitewood & Fleming Theatre & Music was established in 1985 by Artistic Directors Elaine Whitewood and Tim Fleming.

Our process is a multidisciplinary approach that listens, looks, researches and responds. We then invent and deliver a tailor-made project. The process is as important as the final product. In most cases there is live performance of the end result, but not always. Sometimes we make films, (such as “Slave Label”, 2007, commissioned by Creative Partnerships, Cumbria, which is being distributed to every secondary school in Cumbria in 2008, as well as internationally), and record music; or make mosaics and wall hangings. And we have been known to build playgrounds & plant trees. Whitewood & Fleming was based in West Yorkshire but we have been working as well in Cumbria for the past seven years and are now based in the Rusland Valley.
