Spirit of Cumbria Welcome to our Spirit of Cumbria web pages. These have been set up in response to the tragic events of the 19/20th November 2009, when many areas of Cumbria were badly affected by the severe weather and the subsequent flooding. The people of Cumbria have responded magnificently to the crisis and come together to help rebuild lives and communities across the county. The community spirit which has been seen in response to these events has been acknowledged by the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and HRH The Prince of Wales. The cultural sector in Cumbria is playing its part and putting on new events and activities as well as donating to the Flood Recovery Fund set up to help those affected http://www.cumbriafoundation.org/ Thank you for your support and help us support the Spirit of Cumbria!
